  10.31.02 3:15 AM (Thursday)  Midterm #2
Yesterday was another short day.. I also found out results of senior polls. Not what I expected. I wouldn't have minded not winning anything, cuz lots of my friends didn't really win anything... but then again there were some surprises. But overall, too many categories.

Okay so afterschool I went back to Central to turn in my Psych midterm. I'm really unsure of how I did. I really hope I get an A though... I spent too much time on it.

After that it was band practice. It's really hard to write lyrics because I'm not a natural poet, so yeah. It's a slow but steady process. Andrew Ly came and helped us out with our sound, which was kinda cool.
  10.29.02 6:40 PM (Tuesday)  Uhm
Afterschool I went to Central, and I took my Econ midterm. I failed it o_O It was really hard because I didn't really understand half the material. Argh. Well, there goes my 4.0...
10.26.02 4:10 PM (Saturday)  The Ring
Yesterday was pretty busy. It was Purple and White Day, and most of the seniors dressed up, including me. So we had shortened 35-minute periods which was cool. Then lunch came, and we were supposed to go finish the pix for the Annual but we couldn't find Amanda... luckily everything worked out. The assembly was okay, not that great, and yeah.

Afterschool I went to the doctor to have some blood drawn, then I went to Meridian 16 to meet up with Luk and his friends to see The Ring. I met many of his friends from Meany, and it was pretty interesting... The movie was pretty good (of course I haven't seen a movie in forever, esp. a scary movie, so I think I was the only one who thought that...) it had a surprise ending which really made me *think*. Oh yeah sometime during the movie Kim dropped in cuz I invited her.

But yeah... Luk's friends were pretty cool. Just really friendly, it was a nice breath of fresh air. Everyone was Southeast Asian, too.. well, except for that one Chinese guy. I also found out that 'construction site' I was referring to nearly a year back (12.8.01) was really a movie shooting as we had suspected, and they were filming The Ring! That one scene in the Asian grocery where the guy was buying the cigarettes (it took an entire day to film that scene...) Stupid Austin.

After the movie we went out to Yoshinobo's to eat. The food was in small portions; I got a little of everything. It was pretty expensive too. I was full by the end though. And yeah.. we rode the bus home afterwards, and it was really cold.
10.24.02 4:58 PM (Thursday)  Homecoming week: an update
Monday was pajama day. Tuesday was senior toga day/hip hop day for the rest (and I almost participated too...) Wednesday was tacky day. And today was 70's/80's day. Too bad I didn't dress up at all! And I don't have any purple so I can't do anything tomorrow either (darn!)

Anyways. The senior hall was pretty cool... it better go back up again tomorrow. As usual it got hella musty in there. Yeah...

Well this week was hella stressful cuz of more Psych assignments. I got the first batch back--15/15, 15/15, 13/15, and 12/15. I shouldn't be so stressed out but... I HAVE A LOW A! I don't think the answers I wrote for the second set were even adequate, cuz I thought I did such a great job on the first set but I had no idea... I turned in the second set just as I got back the first set, which was on Tuesday. And I went back yesterday to get my take-home midterm, which is HELLA hard and is worth 1/4 of my grade. The final better not be as hard, because it's not take-home... but yeah... better not screw up my GPA (and thus, my valedictorian... uh.. ness..)

So I already know I have hella HW due next week. Also, since I couldn't come in much this week Sensei wants me to come in a whole bunch next week because the quarter is ending... and I want to be helpful as much as possible (until teacher recs for the college apps are due ^^)
10.21.02 7:32 PM (Monday)  A new low point this year
Today sucked so much. It was alright in the beginning, I felt helpful b/c I somewhat helped Shu Ming with Physics during 1st, and during 2nd I found out my legit A in AP Chem got even higher (yay.) But not by much (darn.) Things started to pile up after that too. During AP Calc we got so much new work and I still haven't turned in my last packet. Physics was a mess because I didn't sleep at all last night, so I was falling asleep. Lunch was just unproductive because I was so damn sleepy! Not to mention, what's up w/ people stiffing me on pix? Not cool you guys, not cool! By 6th, I was all stressed out, which wasn't good cuz I have deadlines in Annual tomorrow.

My life right now just sucks so much. I thought I could escape my mind by overloading on everything, but it turns out I'm losing my motivation because of my mind and I am slowly going crazy. I was so depressed when school ended today.

So yeah... I still haven't really done much Psych, still need to do AP Chem lab writeup, and AP LA reading, and I still need to figure out what classes I'm taking at Central so I can get my forms signed.
10.20.02 4:05 PM (Sunday)  Homework I still have left to do
Since it's becoming a regular Sunday tradition for me to figure out how screwed I am for the next few days... lemme make a nice detailed list of all the due dates I know about this next week, and what I've accomplished so far this weekend:

Things I've done:
1) Finishing Physics Lab
2) Health class HW

Things I have to do:
3) Macroecon HW (due today/tomorrow)
4) Psych HW (due Tuesday)
5) AP LA essay rough draft (due tomorrow)
6) Math HW (due last Friday, but I still need to finish it...)
7) Annual art stuff (due Thurs.)
8) Getting college apps ready so I can give my teacher rec forms out this week
9) Picking out classes for Central for next quarter, but I still don't have a booklet of classes
10) Various scholarship stuff
10.17.02 3:17 PM (Thursday)  Yearbook HELL
So our first spreads are due soon... and lately Annual has just been stressful. Getting ppo out of class... trying to coordinate that with everyone's schedules and classes, and trying to get everything to work has just been tough. Yesterday we did pole picture.. today we did trunk picture. Can't elaborate more than that. We went to lake, tried to take picture but then Kate's camera broke down on me... I didn't realize I wasn't pushing the little lens thing all the way and that's why it wasn't working. Anyways, hopefully Jung Tae will be there tomorrow, and we'll get everything settled. Otherwise I can feel the deadline fast approaching.

What else is going on... I haven't TA'ed for a few days because of so much work. Esp. in math... we've got hella of those revolution volumes/surfaces questions that I still have to do.. and a test tomorrow. Other than that... my SAT II study guide from amazon.com came yesterday, so I should start doing that. What else.. college apps are going slowly yet smoothly. Yeah.
10.15.02 7:00 PM (Tuesday)  Sometimes the only person you can rely on.. is yourself
I got tired of asking people for a ride to the Ortho., and because no one really wanted to anyways. So I took the bus to Downtown afterschool, then transferred to the 150 in the bus tunnel. It occurred to me, how much of a natural loner I am. But yeah... I got to the Ortho. really early so I stopped by FFC and played one game of MvC2 (and some guy came in and I beat him down.. which is strange cuz I suck at that game!) and then DDR. Then I went to the Ortho and did all that stuff. I took the 150 back to Downtown, then took the 42 home. It was mightily inconvenient, yet strangely satisfying to take the Metro back and forth like that.
  10.12.02 9:49 PM (Saturday)  SAT's, round 2
I took the SAT's again today. I actually didn't study much, except for going through the flashcards of my 18th ed. Barron's Study guide last night (and they really helped--seriously.) It sucked because I had three verbal sections in a row, and I couldn't tell which one was the experimental section. And in the last math section there was just like two or three problems that I know I couldn't do. Hopefully I got, at the most, four math questions wrong. I got 4 wrong last time and I only got a score of 740.. So if I get a 740 again, and maybe raise my Verbal to a 710 or 720 or so, I'd be pretty happy.
10.9.02 6:53 PM (Wednesday)  Bling bling!
Today was so busy...

I got approximately one hour of sleep last night. Which is bad cuz I need to catch up from not sleeping like two days ago. But anyways. I slowly got to school, and couldn't find anyone for tutorial, so I just went into the Japanese room. I fixed the v-mail, did random work, and before the long period was over I headed down to the library to get some Psych reading in. But, I was distracted...

At any rate, 1st period ended, and I went down to Calc. Uhh yeah I only stayed in there for about 40 minutes to learn how to measure arc length and surface area of rotations (or whatever it was we were supposed to learn..) before the Harvard College visit, which was packed. I can't believe I'll be competing against all the people from school to get in (to schools in general)... because we're all pretty much taking the same classes, and yeah... I don't think I stand out at all. But the visit took most of 3rd period, and we had 10 minutes left, so I decided to "book it" to Ezell's.

After that... I went to the AC to get my cap and gown stuff. I ordered the really expensive package, which might be kinda dumb, but I'm hoping all the announcements I send out (using the materials they provide me in the package) will garner me a full reimbursement of what I paid. And, I got a FREE GHS mascot tassel AND a bling-bling "Diamond Ice" necklace! It's really funny. After that I rushed to Key Club, and a whole bunch of people paid their dues which was great, we have 16 people total that paid... which is really tight. AP LA wasn't really interesting... and... well, afterschool I went to Alex's house for band practice, which was kinda long.

Right. But now I have to read about 150 or so pages out of my Child Development book, which is so boring... but it's really good I learned a whole bunch in my summer Psych class because so far it's been all review. (Which is bad cuz I'm not learning anything new, but good because I don't really have the time.) I'm so tired and it reminds me of, even though we hardly had any assignments, when we did have assignments for UW (AAS 210) it was hell...
10.7.02 10:29 PM (Monday)  Progress Reports
Today we got progress reports. I'm getting a steady A in all my classes; in AP Chem, however, even though though my grade is 90.5% I'm a little worried it's a little low. It should go up as we get more assignments though.

Also, the new secretary in the counseling office... blah. I requested a transcript from her but she was being a real bitch about it, I told her I got the scholarship opportunity today and I needed it by Wednesday, but she didn't really seem to care. Shirley was like, 100x better than her.
  10.5.02 10:19 PM (Saturday)  Busy...
Senior year is definitely busy. I've adjusted well to this new year, I think, because it's not regular school that I'm worried about anymore.

At any rate... there are a million different things I have to do. AP Chem HW, AP Calc HW, Physics HW, AP LA HW, (all due Monday BTW), SAT studying (for next Sat.), Macroecon HW (due Monday), Health HW (due tomorrow), Psych HW (due Thursday). I also have to start filling out college apps.

Today I went to the U Bookstore to get an SAT study guide (10 Real SAT's... after scouring all the Barnes and Nobles around the city, the bookstores in Southcenter, I finally found a place that sold them..) so it should be good that there are actual SAT's to practice with. And I got an AP Physics study guide.. if I decide to take the AP exam at the end of the year (I probably will, hopefully I can convince other ppo to take it this year..)

Oh yeah: I saw something really funny at the mall yesterday. There was this couple, and they had a daughter, and there was this leash-type apparatus around her body, which made her squeak every time she walked. Okay it was funnier IRL, but still...
